William was born 1771 Surry England. He enlisted into the NSW Corps on August 1789 in England, arriving in NSW aboard the Salamander 1791.

Crew Member – Seaman – Royal Admiral 1792
15 May 1792 Thomas Dargin received 3 months pay which places him on board the ship whilst it was in Bernard Dock on the Thames undergoing an overhaul for the voyage. Thomas ran from the Royal Admiral on 8 Nov 1792, this after he received 6 lashes for prior quitting the ship without leave.
Thomas received a land grant at Mulgrve place in July 1795.
