John Foreman, Convict, Albemarle 1791

John Foreman born c1764 Greenwich Kent. On 14 July 1790 at Old Bailey was indicted for burglariously and feloniously breaking and entering the dwelling-house of William Dawes, about the hour of two in the night, on the 4th of June last, and burglariously stealing therein an iron roasting jack, value 12 d. twenty pounds weight of old iron, value 1 s. one brass pottage pot, value 12 d. and one padlock, value 6 d. and one staple, value 1 d. his property. He was sentenced to 7 years transportation.[1] He arrived in NSW aboard the Albemarle in 1791. Continue reading

George Holligan, Convict, Albemarle 1791

George Holloghan, was sentenced to 7 years transportation at Clerkenwell, Middlesex on 14 December 1787, arriving in NSW aboard the Albemarle  in 1791. George arrived at Norfolk Island from wreck of ship Endeavour in January 1796 aboard either the Fancy or Providence.  At some time he returned to NSW and enlisted into the  NSW Corps. Nathaniel Fowler, Convict, Atlantic 1791

Nathaniel Fowler was sentenced to 7 years transportation, on 5 Oct 1789 at Exeter, Devon England. He arrived in NSW aboard the Atlantic in 1791, he later had joined the NSW Corps in Nov 1797. He travelled to Norfolk Island with Joseph Foveaux’s NSW Corps Company part of the 102nd Regiment aboard the Hunter in July 1800; he served on Norfolk Island with the rank of private. Continue reading
