John Burt, NSW Corps, Royal Admiral 1792

John Burt was born at Sale, Devonshire England. He arrived in NSW aboard the Royal Admiral in 1792 as a member of the NSW Corps. He arrived on Norfolk Island aboard the Daedalus in Nov 1794, returning to Sydney aboard HM Supply in Nov 1795.

In 1798 he was a private with Captain Macarthur’s Company in Sydney. John returned to Norfolk Island sometime in 1803. John departed Norfolk Island aboard the Investigator in Feb 1805 for Sydney, and appointed out to Parramatta and also served in Newcastle. In Apr 1810 he was transferred to the Royal Veteran Company.

He was discharged back in England at the age 63 years in c1823, after serving in the 102nd Foot Regiment and Royal New South Wales Veterans.[1]
