Robert was born Feb 1770 Bristol, Somerset England, he enlisted into the NSW Corps in July 1789 in England, arriving in NSW the aboard Scarborough in 1790 with the rank of private.
He was promoted to Corporal in c1800. He most likely travelled to Norfolk Island aboard the Hunter in July 1800 with Joseph Foveaux NSW Corps Company. Robert held the rank of from as early as 1801 – 1804. He served on Norfolk Island for five years, returning to Sydney aboard the Union in March 1805.
Robert Hall, Sergeant 102nd Regiment married Mary Nash, (born Mar 1793 Sydney, daughter of William Nash and Maria Haynes – First Fleeters), 12 Mar 1810, St Phillips Sydney; the witnesses were Robert Guy (her step father) and Elizabeth Arnett. They had been in a relationship since early 1809.
They returned to England aboard the Hindostan in May 1810. Robert and Mary returned to NSW aboard the Eliza as free settlers in Jan 1820. The following year they moved to VDL aboard the Midas. Robert Hall, farmer of Old Black Brush, age 60 years, buried 6 Nov 1831 Sorell.
