Samuel Marsden was born 1769 England. He arrived in NSW aboard the Surprize 1790. He first travelled to Norfolk Island aboard the Supply in Apr 1791, returning to Sydney and was again travelling to Norfolk island aboard the Kitty in Feb 1793.
On Norfolk Island he formed a relationship with Rachael Early (Convict Friendship 1788). Rachael Early had married John Price, Convict Alexander 1788, on 1 June 1788 St Phillips Sydney. There were no children from the union. They were both sent to Norfolk Island aboard the Golden Grove in Oct 1788, and were living at Queensborough on Norfolk Island.
George was tried at Maidstone, Kent, 17 March 1785 for assault and stealing, he received the sentence of death which commuted to 7 years transportation. He arrived in NSW aboard the Alexander 1788.
George married Mary Harrison (Convict, Lady Penrhyn 1788) as George Wittiker and Mary Harris 23 March 1788 Sydney. They both arrived on Norfolk Island aboard HMS Sirius in March 1790 with their daughter Hannah (born 1788 Sydney),
William was born c1760 in Warwickshire England. He was sentence to death for assaulting John Drain on the King’s Highway, on the 21st of Decr last, and putting him in fear and danger of his life, and feloniously taking from his person and against his will, two linen handkerchiefs, value 6 d. two linen shirts, value 4 s. two pair of thread stockings value 12 d. two linen stock, value 12 d. one pillow bier, value 6 d and one striped linen waistcoat, value 6 d. the property of James Haywood. The Norfolk Island Victualling Book records Private Thomas Ashbury first going to Norfolk on the Atlantic, 4 Nov 1791, and received stores throughout 1792 until Kitty left for Port Jackson on 9 Mar 1793. He returned again to Norfolk Island aboard the Francis with the NSW Corps for 9 March 1794 until 31 December 1795, returning to NSW aboard the Francis. Continue reading
Richard enlisted into the NSW Corps in June 1789 in England, he arrived in NSW aboard the Albemarle or Salamander in 1791. He travelled to Norfolk Island aboard the Francis in Mar 1794, returning to Port Jackson aboard HM Supply in Nov 1795.
At sometime he travelled back to Norfolk Island, returning to Sydney aboard HMS Reliance in Dec 1799.
He returned to Norfolk Island aboard HMS Porpoise in Mar 1801. Richard served with the102nd Foot Regiment as private on Norfolk Island from 1801 until his departure aboard the Lady Nelson in Mar 1810. Continue reading
