William Buchannan, NSW Corps, Third Fleet

William Buchannan, member of the NSW Corps, he enlisted November 1790 England, he arrived in NSW in 1791 with the third fleet. William married 23 April 1797 St Phillips Sydney, Elizabeth Clark, Convict, Indispensible 1796.

They arrived on Norfolk Island aboard the Hunter in July 1800 with Joseph Foveaux NSW Corps Company.

1802 William Bohannon: Private NSW Corps.

1805 – 1809 William Bohannon: Member of NSW Corps.

William, Elizabeth and their surviving children left Norfolk Island, returning to Sydney aboard the Lady Nelson in April 1810.

1814 Elizabeth Clarke: Free, Indispensible, on stores, with three children on stores (Jane, Elizabeth and unknown), wife to a Veteran.

William remained a private with the NSW Corp as a member of the Veterans Company until his death on 18 Feb 1815 in Sydney, age 47 years, he was buried 20 Feb 1815 at Old Sydney Burial Ground.

Mrs Elizabeth Buchannan formerly Clarke, widow of William Buchanan, age 35 years remarried James Leeper, 18 October 1815, St Phillips Sydney. James Leeper – Leaper was aged 30 years and a private in the  34th Regiment.
