On 30 Dec 1806 William Windham wrote to NSW Governor Bligh: The subject most necessary at present to advert to is the withdrawing of the establishment from Norfolk Island. … The means of removing the setters must be supplied by the Colonial vessels.[1] There was five embarkments from Norfolk Island to Hobart 1807 – 1808

- City of Edinburgh arrived at Sydney Bay, Norfolk Island on 4 Jun 1808, Norfolk Island Commandant John Piper was given the authority to choose the people, provisions and livestock to be embarked for the voyage. After three months delay, she sailed from Norfolk Island to Derwent River, on 9 Sep 1808, anchoring at Hobart Town harbour on 2 Oct 1808.
