Mary Carter – McCarthy, Convict, Lady Juliana 1790 was sent to Norfolk Island aboard the Surprize in Aug 1790. On Norfolk Island she formed a relationship with First Fleeter Robert Nunn. He was born 1758. Crime: Steal 1 coat, silver, lace and two hat loops. Tried: Old Bailey, 7 July 1784. Sentence: 7 years transportation to America. Continue reading

James received the sentence of transportation for life, in July 1789 at Winchester, Hampshire, he arrived in NSW aboard the Scarborough in 1790.
As James Townsend he married Ann Haynes (Convict Pitt 1792), 13 May 1792 at St Johns Parramatta. He enlisted into the NSW Corps in July 1798 in Sydney; he arrived on Norfolk Island possible sometime in 1801. In 1804 on Norfolk island he held the rank of Drummer. Continue reading
